White Center Video (p365; 1.24.11)

My former stellar student and current friend, Sarah, posted a link to my Facebook page. Especially today, I just so needed to see this video highlighting activism and promise--it gives hope and light! And, I love knowing that someone loves/knows me enough to post something so meaningful to me on my wall (with the comment that "you love this song. and this school"). White Center Elementary is the school where Luke used to read with the kids. I did community training about positive youth development/40 assets training there. This community and school that has seen murder, hardship AND life, strength. They personify resilience. The dog days ARE over (I did have to explain to Luke about literal vs. metaphor regarding that phrase). And I heart White Center:
