From Bumbershoot to Rio

Yesterday and today I walked down to Seattle's music fest, Bumbershoot. Sat I went early to catch Anna Star. I've seen her a few times before, the first time when I was working on a big project and we too tired to see a show. I don't remember what she played because by the time she went on stage at midnight, I had put my head down on the bar and took a little nap. In a bar (a dive bar!). I always want to like Anna more than I do (esp since her band is called the Laughing Dogs), but she is a little to electric guitar for my taste.

Today, I pretty much bought my ticket so I could see my boys, Hey Marseilles. They are a Seattle band, about to go BIG. They ended with my favorite song, Rio (because there ARE always Brazilian boys to discover). It was cool: two of the band members held the kick drums over their head and other members had to jump up to pound on them during the ba, badda, da dum parts. So alive...enjoy:
