On the Blog Again: Stories and Letters

I recently rediscovered how much I like letters and stories. I think my whole life, or at least since I could write, I've been an avid letter writer. When my family moved from IL to KS, I wrote my childhood friend, Katie, for years. In college, I had a high school friend with whom I would exchange cards and letters. One summer, I was living in the Black Hills of South Dakota at a Science Station (a good way for a literature major to get her science credit) and another high school friend and I exchanged many letters while she was a camp counselor in rural Kansas. With email and facebook, I find I write fewer letters. And, a blog isn't quite like a letter. Well, maybe a letter to myself or to someone unknown (you, creepy blog stalker), but it seems like a good tradition to morph and carry on. So, hello Random Human Ecologist blog. I can't wait to see what stories evolve.
