On Christmas Eve, we stopped by to see friends who just adopted a puppy. The names Miles was about to stick but since it was a Lab/Rottweiler mix (black and tan), I suggested Guinness. And it stuck!!! Many of you may be amazed since I have some weird dog name ideas (Thunder, Rebel, Fern, etc.). I'm glad Luke came with his name! The puppy was cute, but he is no Luke :)
We went back to the Darleys and had a great Christmas Eve dinner. We watched some Hallmark Hall of Fame movies (um, that was Liz's idea) and went to bed.
The next morning we gathered around the tree and opened gifts. Santa was good and I got a glassybaby candle holder and some other great gifts. Mom gave me a really pretty necklace. Liz announced that she got an internship!!! Yay Liz!
Christmas was quiet and relaxed. I read and napped. For dinner, we went to a neighbor's and ate Latkes. It was wonderful.
The next day, Liz and I took Luke for an early walk and I totally wiped out--FLAT on my back. But, the day went up from there and we played in the snow, made oatmeal, and relaxed. The Darleys returned us to Queen Anne (God bless those studded tires).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
