Late last year I had my naughty appendix taken out (along with an ovarian cyst). The cyst burst on the table, and the doctor called my appendix something that only comes along once in a blue moon. It had a mucus cyst (what is with all these cysts?) that if it were to explode would have been like an IUD going off in my belly. Because that area is so porous, it is hard to eradicate with radiation and chemo, and the ten year survival rate is only 12%. Needless to say, I'm glad that I got it out of my belly! I had a good little manservant, willing to snuggle at every whim. My mom came to town and was a great help with food and Luke walks. Margaret was great and took me to the hospital and waited for me until I was released. I learned I'm a champ waker-uppper. I was bright-eyed before the breathing tube was removed! This helped me get into post-op faster, but I was ready to do my tasks (walk, eat, etc.) so I could get HOME!
