Oregon: Coast and City

Summer finally hit the Northwest. It got into the 90s...a great time to head to the Oregon Coast to beat the heat (90s is hot without a/c).

There was this great Marina with a crab stand. The owner built a communal fire pit, folks from Canada, Washington (me), and Oregon visited and watched the sun set.

Hello, Dinner

Yes, it was really hard to eat.

Max, in green, has his 1st job at the Marina; he is quite a fisher!

We were tired after a day on Manzanita's beach:

Surprisingly, there were horses!

And golfers using the beach as their back-9 (Luke and I almost became a hole in one!).

Back in Portland, Jordan shares his toys.

We head off to the Adult Soap Box Derby: You make it, you ride it down a hill.

I'm not sure which car won, but Luke felt like he hit the jackpot when Michael asked him to clean out Jordan's car set!

Katie was headed down to Beverly Beach, so Luke and I joined. We met an old friend on the way.

We made a healthy dinner (veggies and chicken sausages),

While Luke hid from the fire.

I had been scared that Luke's black fur was getting too hot so I fashioned him a cape, Lukarence of Arabia-style.

Luke was feeling fashionable all day.

It was a great trip, and here is a good motto for both the Coast and for our lives:
