I'm a human ecologist filled with random facts! On most days, I'm just a crazy dog lady who wanders through life seeing the curiosities in this world. In 2011, I was on a quest: Project365 (p365). I took a picture everyday. That may be the first and last time I complete a New Year Resolution! Now, I'm trying to find quirky, kitschy joy. Beware: There are a lot of pics of my pup. Realistically, this blog should be called Luke's Photo Booth! All in all, it is a story of a well-loved life.

Old Ballard (p365; 2.18.11)
Old Ballard is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Seattle. It is where the salty seamen were swarthy between voyages. Many of the historic buildings have been torn down or renovated beyond recognition, but there are a few building left that give you a feel of yesteryear. The building in this photo houses three cool places: The Walrus and the Carpenter is an oyster bar with fancy drinks. There is a small plates restaurant named Staple and Fancy. And, my favorite, is the Dutch Bike Coffee Co. It sells Dutch Bicycles (bikes with a large basket in front) and coffee (hey, this is Seattle). The barista is so friendly, and often the other patrons will chat you up as you wait. The only thing is that I had my Luke coffee mug and the server mistook Luke for a .... bear!
