Sci Fi/BSG (p365; 1.22.11)

Pretty much  my whole life I've been a Star Wars fan. I had the t-shirt when I was little, I remembering lying in wait for Return of the Jedi to be released, and I there were a few times I wore a white sheet/hair in side buns while waiting for Han Solo to whisk me far, far away. As an adult, I enjoy a few different genes within Sci Fi (e.g., the nerdy guys on Big Bang), but my true love will always be Star Wars (hey, my dog's name is Luke Skywalker-[my last name]. I liked the new Star Trek (funny, because I'm not a huge fan of the original series), I read some science fiction, and I fell hook/line/sinker for the remake of Battlestar Galactica. I loved the show because it was complex: existential themes of longing, hope, and community filled each episode. Plus, there was the requisite hot guys, rough girls, and space fights! For Christmas, Megan got us tickets to see the exhibition at EMP (experience music project). I loved it! There were costumes and props glare. I learned that the main difference between the original series and the new series was aliens created the Cylons in '78 while humans created them in modern times. It makes sense with the advance of technology that we could be responsible for a machine take-over. Also, I think this change added to the complexity (and theological questions) in the show. With admission. a bonus was that you got to see the Sci Fi museum that is connected with the EMP (yay Star Wars memorabilia). Although, after seeing the Sci Fi exhibit, I'm left to wonder what is fantasy and what is sci-fi?

Here are a few photos:

I never knew this about you! You should visit us some time. Mr. P has a huge collection of old Star Wars toys in storage and unfortunately, I'm not as interested.
