Thanks Les Schawab

This morning as I was out-and-about (with Luke), my "tire warning" light came on (yes, I had to get out my manual to see what the orange horseshoe light with an exclamation mark meant). I stopped and all the tires looked good-to-go (but this assessment was made by looking and and stopping just short of kicking the tires). But, to be on the safe side, I thought I should have someone else look at them. When I had my old Honda, I tended to fix most car problems by turning up the music. But, even loud music can't drown out the tire light. I went to Les Schawb, a tire store known for friendly service. They were really backed up, but the guy said that the light often comes on in cold weather. Yes, we have been having cold/icy weather--strange for Seattle. He told me to pull around and they would check the pressure. Nothing seemed to be wrong and they guy put only a bit of air in the tires, but it was nice of him to check (esp since he was being watched very closely by a certain black, shiny dog). I was glad that "good" (read: free and friendly) service isn't that far away...

I got a freebie today, too!!! We had the furnace guy come out and just give it a once over to make sure everything is running properly. When he gave me the receipt I asked him how much I owed him and he said nothing. Since our house is new we get one free check-up and I guess I just used it. I love free. :)
