I'm a human ecologist filled with random facts! On most days, I'm just a crazy dog lady who wanders through life seeing the curiosities in this world. In 2011, I was on a quest: Project365 (p365). I took a picture everyday. That may be the first and last time I complete a New Year Resolution! Now, I'm trying to find quirky, kitschy joy. Beware: There are a lot of pics of my pup. Realistically, this blog should be called Luke's Photo Booth! All in all, it is a story of a well-loved life.

Luke in Wonderland (p365; 8.20.11)
I had the SCARE of my life tonight. Ursie made me a belated birthday dinner; per usual, I took Luke over to her house (I had thought of leaving him home since his tail is still a bit sore, but his tummy trouble seems resolved so he got the all-clear). I didn't realize that Ursie was building a playroom under her dining room (most of the downstairs is an apartment rented out--you can't get to the downstairs from the main house). Luke ran inside, crash. When saw the hole, I just started crying. I was sure that was the end of Luke. Ursie ran to get the keys, I followed her outside, downstairs, and into the apartment. There was my happy, unfazed boy. I swear he is on his 7th life! I checked him out, and he seems fine (ok, I'm 31% worried about internal bleeding). But, I feel blessed. Luke is such a gift to me, I know I won't have him forever. I would just like to keep him by my side as long as possible. This summer has been had a lot of fun with trips, camping, friends, etc. At the same time, lately, I've felt, um, unmoored? No, more like I'm playing hide-and-seek and I'm waiting for the "it" to call allie, allie, all come free. During this pause, maybe this rest, I've been fortunate to have Luke near me, usually smiling. I'm saying a prayer of thanksgiving tonight that he seems fine.
