Laura Lawrence Hazelten (p365; 6.16.11)

My maternal grandmother was sweet and strong. She raised seven children (six of them born in front of the fireplace), lived under White Face Mountain, never learned to drive a car, baked amazing biscuits, loved reading (Grace Livingston Hill books, among others), and cared for stray pups. Visiting her on "the homestead" remains one of my fav childhood memories. My grandfather gave her a pretty necklace the Christmas before they married (circa 1921).
