Near Perfect Day (p365; 5.20.11)

Went to work for a staff and faculty appreciation lunch (yum!). My director, Clinton (giving the pat), and the associate dean, Jack (getting the pat), were honored for their service:

I skipped out after lunch for a pretty park day with Luke and Nina. Luke created a new game, pop the ball into the gross shoe.

Next, Luke and I went over to Ursie's to meet her new mini golden retriever pup, Phoebe. Luke put the make on this little blond in the first few minutes:

On her back patio in the shangria-la garden/animal menagerie (chickens, cat, dogs, humans), Ursie sipped a gin & tonic and I had some red wine. I tend to pick out bottles based on their label, and I just loved this one (and it turned out to be really good!):

 Little crimpy-eared dogs.

Luke and Obie decide to bring back "separate but equal":

I'm not sure this is a great photo, but I love the composition (plaintive child-foot), aloof Obie, curious Luke, and the ball-up-for-grabs.

And, at last, truce:

This season's winner of the Amazing Race: Team Inter-Species!
Obie and Luke, what will you do with the million dollars?
It was a beautiful, sunny, friendship day in Seattle. A 10!
