This morning, I was supposed to go running with Sara. She called to cancel, but my phone was "misplaced" (lost). I found it in the car just after I arrived outside her house. Instead of running, I took Luke to Golden Gardens, one of my fav Seattle parks. We played there for a while, then I drove by the Ballard Locks. There is a "toast stand",
Nervous Nellies, that used to be one of my haunts. Previously, they were a three-table hole-in-the-alley-wall startup, serving toast and espresso drinks. They moved to a mixed used, fancy building, and even put a picture of a friend/me up that was taken at the original location (along with pictures of other regulars). They closed their large space when rent soared and folks had less spending money. They reopened in a hut outside the Locksport Bar (a famous fish-n-chip pub). I had toast and cheese with a tall latte. A perfect dawn.
